Why Socotra

Another
Planet.

Socotra is called the Galápagos of the Indian Ocean — a UNESCO World Heritage island where 37% of its plant species exist nowhere else on Earth. Dragon blood
trees. Bottle trees blooming with pink flowers. Beaches that look like they were painted.

The people here are among the warmest you will ever meet — respectful, generous, genuinely happy to share their island. It is not a destination. It is a feeling.

A special adventure in the beautiful Hajhir Mountains — the highest mountains on the island, reaching around 1,500 metres above sea level. No cars on this trip. The 2-day Hajhir trek is completed on foot without camels; on the 4-day route, camels carry the food and camping equipment.

From the top, breathtaking views over Hadibu, the sea, the valleys, and the stunning natural landscapes of Socotra. The weather is cold, and sometimes clouds flow beautifully over the peaks — creating magical, unforgettable views.

Questions

Your Questions,
Answered.

Socotra is far from mainland Yemen, and the situation on the island is calm. However, the island is officially part of Yemen. Before travelling, we recommend reviewing the latest advice from your country’s foreign ministry and checking the conditions of your travel insurance.Read the full Socotra safety guide →
You can reach Socotra by flying from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — the quickest direct route — or via Cairo and Aden, which operates year-round. We assist with the reservation and provide the official Yemenia Airways bank details, so the full airfare is transferred directly to the airline’s official account. We arrange the tourist visa. You just send us a passport photo. → View Jeddah flight schedule Route: Cairo → Aden → Socotra (year-round)

⚠ This route involves a stay in Aden (approx. 7–12 hrs). You can either wait at the airport or stay overnight at a hotel — we provide companions who will take you safely to the hotel and back to the airport. A Yemeni visa is required in addition to the Socotra visa. Flights cannot be booked online — only through a tour operator. Round-trip price approx. USD 1,195. Schedules and fares may change and must be confirmed with Yemenia Airways.
  1. Choose your preferred travel dates and send us a copy of your passport.
  2. We check seat availability with Yemenia Airways and assist you with the reservation. Tickets to Socotra are currently not available through public online booking platforms. Seats are limited, so we recommend booking several months in advance, especially if you plan to travel during the high season.
  3. Once availability has been confirmed, we provide the official Yemenia Airways bank details. You transfer the full ticket price directly to the airline’s official account. FEEL Socotra does not receive the airfare.
  4. We strongly recommend booking your flights 4–5 months in advance. For the bottle tree blooming season from late February to April, it is best to book 8–12 months ahead.
  5. After your flight has been confirmed, pay the mandatory USD 200 visa fee in advance. This secures your place and allows us to arrange your Socotra visa.
  6. The remaining land-program price, from USD 1,050 per person, is paid on arrival in Socotra.

Please note: Your place is confirmed once the flight has been booked and we have received the visa payment. Total from USD 1,250 per person; international flights are not included.

Jeddah Airport Flights depart from Terminal N (North Terminal). Most international arrivals land at Terminal 1 — take a taxi or the shuttle bus (paid) to reach the North Terminal.
We provide full camping gear: tent, mattress, cover, pillow, and blanket. You sleep under open skies — on beaches, in dragon blood forests, by the Indian Ocean. It is not glamping. It is real, raw camping — and it is one of the most beautiful things you will ever experience.
Sanitary facilities Showers and toilet facilities are now available at almost all overnight stops. The standard is simple but sufficient — this is camping, not a hotel. Food Meals are freshly prepared every day from local ingredients: fish, rice, vegetables, chicken, fruit, flatbread, and eggs. Everything is included — you will never go hungry.
Absolutely. We offer fully private tours for individuals, couples, families, and groups. As for dates — flights to Socotra operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so the start date of your tour depends on your flight. We are happy to help you find the right dates together. We can also adjust the program length, focus, and pace. Write to us and we will build your perfect trip together.
You do not need to be an athlete. You should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain, swimming, and spending time outdoors. Some days are active (hiking, snorkelling), others are relaxed (beach days, boat trips). We adapt to the group.
  • Land program: from USD 1,050 per person — paid in cash on arrival in Socotra.
  • Mandatory visa fee: USD 200 — paid in advance to secure your booking.
  • Total: from USD 1,250 per person.
  • International flights — not included and paid separately.

The season runs from late September to May. From June to September, strong monsoon winds make regular tourist expeditions considerably more difficult. Jeddah flights are normally suspended, while other routes may remain available depending on airline schedules and local conditions.

Dec – Jan
Comfortable, pleasant breeze. ~26°C
Feb – Apr
Bottle tree blooming season. The most popular time. ~29°C
